I have been repairing some old sewing machines lately and have been looking for repair tips. I found this and thought it would be good to share. Both these videos have a lot of good information about keeping your sewing machine running smoothly. They are well worth the time to watch!

Fondant High Heel Shoe Tutorial

I found this great video on how to make shoes from sugar for a cake but this could be done for doll shoes using polymer clay or Fimo instead! Fantastic instructions here. I especial like the supports and jigs used to assemble the shoe for accuracy.

Barbie Mode Danielle paper pattern scaled to fit a Sybarite doll

I have fitted this pattern in paper and will sew this in fabric now. Trapeze (a Sybarite doll) is the fitting model. The Japanese Barbie Mode patterns are so beautifully designed. It is a pleasure to work with them.

Took the pattern from above website, printed it out and traced pieces as is on coffee filters without seam allowances. Taped together and then cut and pieces to make alterations. Now I have to cut the paper coat apart to refine the pattern, then sew it up! It took 3 hours to get this far.

Here is the finished coat. It is made with silk organza and lined with pink silk organza. Sybarite Moon models.

I found lots of help in learning how to make shoes by reading this blog.

They are very time consuming and probably the hardest thing I have ever attempted to make but very rewarding when the shoe is finished!

New outfit for a Sybarite

I am sewing again after a long time. There are a few designs I've been wanting to try and am going to post the finished work here as I make them. I really enjoy pattern drafting because the sky is the limit!
Here is a skirt and top I worked on today. I need to finish it but was excited to show this pic! The pattern is from my own draft. Probably tomorrow when it is finished, I will list it on Etsy.
